Christchurch rugby stadium accommodation

239 On Lincoln Motel is one of the first motels to offer guests adjoining doors to most rooms. Elegance, luxury and quality of the highest standard.

Christchurch rugby stadium accommodation is the gateway to the South Island of New Zealand. It is known for it's relaxed atmosphere, friendly people and stunning natural environment. The city holds a special place in my heart as this was where I spent my first night when I arrived in New Zealand back in 2004.

Christchurch has many accommodation options available including hotels, motels, backpackers and BBs. However if you are looking for something different then why not stay in one of these Rugby Stadiums?

1. AMI Stadium - Addington  (AMI)

If you are visiting Christchurch any time between September to April then you can stay at the AMI stadium which doubles up as a hotel and rugby ground during that period. During the winter, the AMI stadium turns into a lovely cosy hotel with room for up to 100 people. It has 22 rooms which come complete with en-suite, TV and tea/coffee making facilities (very important!). If you get really lucky then one of these rooms could look down upon the rugby pitch, but don't worry there are still other options to get you that perfect view!

2. Rugby World Cup 2011 Venues - North Harbour Stadium Wellington Regional Stadium (Westpac)

If you want to travel around New Zealand and see some amazing stadiums while staying in world class stadiums, then go stay in one of these during their off seasons. The Westpac stadium is right in the heart of Wellington which is the capital of New Zealand. If you are looking for something centrally located then this is perfect.

The North Harbour stadium is based just outside Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand. It's location is ideal if you are planning to do some trips out to places like Rotorua or Taupo (the best place on earth), it also offers some great views over the harbour.

3. Rugby World Cup 2011 Venues - Dunedin Stadium (Carisbrook) Forsyth Barr Stadium (Cazaly's Stadium)  (Forsyth Barr)

If you want to watch rugby then head up to Dunedin during their off season, it's a city that is extremely passionate about the sport and has a strong rivalry with Christchurch. They call themselves the "home of rugby" in New Zealand so you will have to go there at some point!

You can stay at either Carisbrook or Cazaly's stadium depending on your budget. I would recommend staying at Cazaly's Stadium as this offers much more than just accommodation. In addition to being a hotel, they have swimming pool, gymnasium and an entertainment centre for their guests to use.

One great thing about NZ is that you can travel all around the country without ever getting in a car thanks to its extensive public transport system. The above hotels are within walking distance from both Train stations in the city.

4. Rugby World Cup 2011 Venues - AMI Stadium (AMI) North Harbour Stadium (Westpac) If you are looking for somewhere close to the airport then look no further than these two stadiums in Railway station accommodation Christchurch that have rooms available year round! Only a 5 minute drive from the airport, they are great if you want to drop your bags off before heading out into town or if you just need a place to crash after coming back late from an excursion! These hotels are very basic with only room enough for one adult or two small children, but perfect for young families travelling on a budget!
