Why I dont step on the logo in NHL locker rooms

Because the Stanley Cup playoffs don't truly beginuntil a comically tense media-player showdown (with fans as the third man in) over it, we're talking about locker-room logos today. Terrific!

This year, it was the ED Belfour Jersey Islanders. Cal Clutterbuck blah blah blah, can't stop on the logo, bloo bloo bloo, but it's on the floor, blee blee blee.

NHL teams put giant logos on the floor and then scream at media when they step on it. Clutterbuck just screamed ("Hey, WTF") at a TV dude.

RayFerraro is more qualified than anyone to speak on it, and he's probablyright.

If logo is so sacred, CM Punk Jersey put it on the roof.putting it on the floor and expecting no one to step on it is ridiculous

Remember this next time the Islanders complain about a lack of media attention. You can havethe attention, or you can rest easy, knowing that your locker-room logo is safe from feet. Choose wisely.

This whole deal will probably continue for most of the day. Most media folks will say, and some with an Bobby Orr Jersey unnece sary degree of indignance, that slappingsomething that shan't be stepped upon in the middle of a highly trafficked, carpeted surface is a stupid thing to do. That is objectively true, but it's nothing to get that angry over.

Fans will get angry because, for the Glenn Hall Jersey most part, they don't like the media. They will overuse the word "respect," as if that's what it's about, rather than unaware camera guys who are A) in an NHL locker room for the first time and B) trying to maneuver a giant, heavy piece of equipment in close quarters. Whatever.

For the last five years, I've walked through locker roomswith low-grade anxiety over this because I don't like getting yelled at in public. That is the only reason I don't step on logos in locker rooms. Nothing good has ever come out of getting yelled at in public.

The other: For a few of those years, I only wrote about hockey. I know the rule, even though it' Keith Magnuson Jersey s funny, counterintuitive and sort of dumb. Someone told me. As wegetfarther into the postseason, the media crowd increases, partially because of an influx of folks who typically don't cover the sport, and partially because hockey-specific media starts to coagulate in John Hayden Jersey the same few spots.

So, youcan set your watch by it. Is Tax Day coming? Are hockey players pi sed about logos in their locker room? Are media people saying and writing aimle s, goofystuff about it?Must be mid-April.
