Capitals coach Barry Trotzdid not agree with the call on Wilson, saying it was "definitely not an embellishment penalty."
"I couldnt believe it," Trotz said two days after the incident, ."I even asked the ref, Whatd Tommy Doyle Jerseys you call that on him? It was not. It was not embellishment.
"The guy swooped his skates right behind him, you go down pretty hard. Its happened to me a few times when I was younger. Theres no embellishment when a guy swoops your legs from underneath you. Youre going to go Reid Ferguson Jerseys down hard no matter what."
Wilson is fourth in the league in penalty minuteswith 159, and Trotzfeels he has gotten too many penalties for "reacting the right way." Wilson seems to agree.
"Twenty years old, got a little bit of a reputation. Its tough," Wilson said."I want to play until the whistle, and I think that was two, three seconds after the whistle he throws me into Tim Settle Jerseys the boards and Im on my back and he feels I need to go too.
"Cant argue with the refs. Theyve been around a lot longer than I have. Just trying to continue to play my game and see whatever happens, happens."
Wilson is the ninth player to be fined for embellishment this season, and he will be fined $3,000 for another offense. Canadiensdefenseman P.K. Subban is Tyler Bass Jerseys the only player who has been fined more than once.
