Noise Monitoring NZ

Verum Group is putting their experience in passive water treatment systems toward a new target, the removal of nitrate from agricultural water. This research uses a system to remove nitrate from tile drain water on a participating farm in the Waikirikiri-Selwyn River catchment.

New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Rich green landscapes, abundant birdlife and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle are just some of the reasons to visit. Unfortunately, tourism has been growing exponentially over recent years and this has brought with it an increase of noise complaints at locations where people come to relax and unwind. Noise pollution is becoming more common across New Zealand; whether it be from aircraft, construction or loud music at bars, nightclubs or sporting venues. Noise monitoring NZ companies like Verum Group are on hand to help our clients find out how much noise exists around their property so they can make informed decisions about new developments.

During summertime cities like Auckland are very noisy as revellers go out and party, but during winter things quiet down considerably. Noise monitoring in Auckland is very common, and we work closely with the Council to provide them with noise results across our city. Noise levels for residential properties are usually below the 45dB(A) limit set by Council so these days are usually not a problem. The main time of year when noise becomes an issue is during summer as people want to spend more time outdoors hosting barbecues or relaxing outside at night.

During winter months between June and August it is common for landowners to have their properties surveyed for exterior noise levels due to aircraft overflights from Auckland Airport, which overlooks both St Heliers Bay and Mission Bay on the North Shore. Noise complaints related to aircraft overflights are becoming increasingly common in Auckland, particularly due to the significant increase of passenger numbers at Auckland Airport. Noise monitoring results help land owners understand just how much aircraft noise they are exposed to. Noise levels vary depending on the time of day or night so it's important for landowners to get an idea of when aircraft overflights occur near them.

Every year between October and December we also undertake Workplace exposure monitoring NZ after student accommodation is completed for Semester 1. We undertake Noise Monitoring in Christchurch every summer between Christmas and New Year due to Festive Season revellers enjoying themselves well into the night before returning home after a big night out. Noise complaints at these locations are related almost exclusively to loud music from late night bars, pubs and clubs who's customers like to party late into the night. Noise monitoring in Christchurch and Noise Monitoring in Wellington help councils understand just how much noise is in these locations and whether they need to introduce new by-laws to deal with excessive noise levels. Noise complaints in rural areas of New Zealand can also be caused by earthmoving equipment, chainsaws and even farm animals that make noises after dark.
