How to Play Satta King?

The rules of Satta are simple. The participants stake their money on winning cards drawn from a container. The dealer draws cards from the container and after that, they are sorted out. The dealer will then divide the card values in half and announce them to the participants. After this, he takes one of his own cards along with any other players’s cards and adds it to his hand. Then , he announces the values of his hand. The participant with the highest card value wins that round and gets to place his bet again on the next round.

The game is played for five rounds in a row. If no one has won any money by then, it ends as a draw. The first round is also called the "Satta Sattai" and all other rounds are called ‘Satta Sattu’.

The game is played with cards of different suits, i.e., clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. The suit used for each round is decided by the dealer. If a player wishes to change his card, he can do so before starting a new round. The cards are shuffled in the middle of each round and then cut to determine which suit will be used for that round.

In every Satta Sattu, there are a few rules which must be followed by all the players. The dealer is the first to draw a card from the Satta container and he will announce its value after that. Then, each player in turn draws a card from his hand and announces its value as well. If any of these cards are higher than the card announced by the dealer, he gets to place his bet on that round. The winner of a round is determined by whoever has the highest card value among all players in that round. If no one wins any money during five rounds, then it ends as a draw and each player gets his money back.

The game is usually played with 6 players in a team of two. If the game is started by three or more teams, then each player has to play alone for five rounds and if he wins any money, he will be allowed to join the team after that. If the game is started by two teams, then the winner of each round will be determined after that.

This game has similarities with Spanish Rummy and European Rummy (also known as Meldemat). It was first played in the United States during late 19th century. However, its origin is not known. The game was first introduced in India during the British rule, and now it is very popular among Indian people. The rules of the game are very simple and it is easy to learn. It can be played by almost all people who like playing card games.

How do I play a round?

A player starts the game by selecting a card from his stack of 8 cards (‘Ekad’). This is known as ‘Shuffle and Pick One’. The next step is to declare the suit of the card. If it is clubs, then he must announce ‘clubs’ and if it is diamonds, then he announces ‘diamonds’. He may also say “Any other card I like!” or "Any two cards I like!" or "Any three cards I like!". This is known as ‘Drawing a Card’.

The next step is to reveal the value of the card by saying “high”, "low" or any other words for this purpose. The player must state his total hand value. The player must announce the number of cards in his hand. If he has more than 7 cards, then he must say “8 or more” and if he has less than 7 cards, then he must say “7 or less”.

What is Satta King ? Satta King is a very simple game of Satta. It has two rounds, with each round having 52 cards. The number of rounds depends on the number of players in the game. If there are only two players, then it has 52 cards. If there are three players, then it has 53 cards and so on.

The game begins with the player who is left of the dealer dealing all 52 cards to each player in turn. The remaining card goes into a pile face down

In the first round, each player must declare a suit and then draw from the top of his pile. He may choose to take all 52 cards or just two cards from his own hand. If he takes more than two cards, he must announce “8 or more” and if he takes less than two cards, he must announce “7 or less”. He may also say "Any other card I like!" or "Any two cards I like!".

The player who chooses to take all 52 cards has the option of making a Satta King (a point worth 100) by saying “King” and if he does, then the card is added to his own pile. If a player takes two cards and makes a Satta King, then the value of his Satta King is doubled (200).

The other players must now make their declarations: if they have a Satta King, then they must announce it. If not, then they may choose to make their own Satta King or continue with the draw.

If no one has made a Satta King in this round, then the player who chose to take all 52 cards draws two cards from his pile and then the game continues.

The player who chose to take all 52 cards may also say “Any two cards I like!” or "Any other card I like!" If he does, then he draws another card from his pile.
